Meet the riders: Chloe Factor, LGIM

Published on June 6, 2024

Chloe Factor works for Legal & General Investment Management, and this will be her first pedElle. As a self-confessed 'complete newbie', she's been putting in the training to get fit for the multi-day challenge.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you're working on right now:
I have worked for LGIM Real Assets since Jan 2023 as an asset manager in the Build to Rent Fund. I’m working mainly on the mobilisation and onboarding of three new BTR schemes in Brighton & Hove and London, which includes 744 residential homes and over 60,000 sqft in ground floor commercial space.

How long have you been cycling and how did you get into it?
I’m a complete newbie to road cycling, so it’s only been about 2 or so months for me since signing up for pedElle.

How did you get involved in pedElle?
Two of my colleagues who have participated before encouraged me to sign up. I was absolutely terrified of the idea of it, but I’ve heard such amazing things about the trip. It didn’t take too much convincing and accepted the challenge.

What are you most looking forward to? And what are you dreading?
I’m looking forward to meeting the other pedEllers, exploring a new place and hopefully some nice countryside views. I also like that cycling gives me a good excuse to eat sweets constantly! Dreading climbing steep hills and any possibility of rain!

How are you approaching training?
The first step for me was just to get comfortable on a road bike and then gradually covering the basics and practicing as much as can. I used the Club Peloton training rides and RideLondon to build up the distance and time on the bike. I do a bit of spinning, strength training and yoga as well which has been really helpful.

Any top tips you’ve picked up that you’ll take with you on the ride?
A bike fit is 100% worth it.

What would you most like to get out of the event?
I’m looking forward to putting the training into practice and pushing myself out of my comfort zone (and hopefully that I want to keep on cycling afterwards).

What business connections would you like to make on the event?
I’ve already connected with some of the pedEllers on the training rides and it’s been great to network doing something active for a change. I’m looking forward to meeting the others very soon.
