Meet the riders: Emma Swan, Forsters

Published on June 6, 2024

Emma Swan is an associate at Forsters. While this is her first pedElle, she's nailed how to look like a pro with her top tip!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you're working on right now:
I’m an associate in Forsters construction disputes team, and am involved in lots of building safety matters at present.

How long have you been cycling and how did you get into it?
I first got into road cycling around six years ago when I was volunteered to take part in a 100km charity cycle with work.

How did you get involved in pedElle?
I heard about the opportunity through work and from speaking to others who have taken part.

What are you most looking forward to? And what are you dreading?
I’m looking forward to the scenery and (hopefully) sunshine! I am dreading the inevitable pain that goes along with it.

How are you approaching training?
I have taken a rather ad hoc, fit-it-in-when-I-can approach, and have just been trying to get out on my bike as much as possible.

Any top tips you’ve picked up that you’ll take with you on the ride?
Yes, always wear your sunglasses on the outside of your helmet straps – this will help you look like a pro even when you’re not feeling like one.

What would you most like to get out of the event?
To push myself and to meet new people with shared interests.

What business connections would you like to make on the event?
I am looking forward to meeting everyone taking part and hearing about how the work they are doing.
