Meet the riders: Thérèse Marie Rodgers, Forsters LLP
Thérèse Marie Rodger's is counsel in the Construction Disputes team at Forsters, a pedElle partner. This will be her first pedElle, and she's looking forward to taking on the challenge, and getting to know other riders.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you're working on right now:
I joined the Construction Disputes team at Forsters as counsel in July 2023. I provide pre-dispute advice to resolve ongoing project issues and also advise on formal proceedings such as adjudication and litigation. I am currently working on a whole range of disputes including matters with issues relating to delays and variations, distressed projects, and building safety issues.
How long have you been cycling and how did you get into it?
I signed up for a charity cycle across Malawi in 2011 and have taken part in various events with a cycling element ever since. Although I would very much describe myself as a fair-weather cyclist!
How did you get involved in pedElle?
I heard about pedElle through colleagues at work. It sounded like such a positive event and is also for a great cause, so I had to give it go.
What are you most looking forward to? And what are you dreading?
I'm most looking forward to meeting the other pedEllers and exploring the Polish countryside. I am dreading the reaction from the proper cyclists in the group to my preference for wearing ankle socks rather than long cycle socks!
How are you approaching training?
A mix of longer cycles at the weekend and some Watt bike training in the gym during the week. I have also used the event as an excuse for a “training holiday” in Portugal.
Any top tips you’ve picked up that you’ll take with you on the ride?
Making sure I keep on top of my hydration and fuel to avoid energy depletion – it becomes hard to recover once you let your energy levels drop too low.
What would you most like to get out of the event?
I am looking forward to testing my training and meeting the other riders.
What business connections would you like to make on the event?
Making new connections with people working in all different areas of the real estate sector.
