Meet the Riders: Sarah Guppy, Knight Frank
Sarah Guppy is Head of Global Service Line Marketing at Knight Frank. After joining - and enjoying - a Knight Frank charity ride last summer, she was persuaded to get involved in this year's Cycle to MIPIM, and has been putting in the training to ensure she's ready for the ride, swiftly followed by running the Knight Frank MIPIM stand with her colleagues.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you're working on right now:
I’ve been at Knight Frank for over eight years and look after the Marketing of our Global Service Lines. I work on marketing campaigns, new offices, partnerships and events, across residential and commercial in all geographies. I’ve been lucky enough to travel throughout my career at Knight Frank and have experienced what the global network is truly about. I’m currently organising the Knight Frank MIPIM stand so I’ll be cycling there and going straight to run the event with my colleagues.
How did you get involved in Cycle to MIPIM?
I participated in a Knight Frank charity ride last summer with Club Peloton, cycling from London to Folkestone and really enjoyed myself! After that I was persuaded to put myself forward for Cycle to MIPIM and the rest is history.
What are you most looking forward to?
Meeting new people and seeing the stunning French countryside. The community aspect of cycling is something I really enjoy so I’m looking forward to chatting with lots of different people throughout the cycle.
What are you dreading?
The cold and potential rain – I’m definitely a fair-weather rider!
How are you approaching training?
I’ve fairly new to cycling so a lot of my training has been about building up my strength and fitness. I’ve been doing multiple spin classes a week, and have been getting the kms in outside on the weekends. I’ve joined a couple of group rides which has been a fun way to meet fellow C2M riders.
Any top tips you’ve picked up that you’ll take with you on the ride?
Drink more water, eat more, and always remember to un-clip before stopping.
What would you most like to get out of the event?
I think this will be a huge sense of achievement for me. I’ve always liked a physical challenge and this will be my biggest one yet!
We wish Sarah all the best - you can sponsor her here.
