Meet the pedElle 2023 riders: Serena Harwood, Knight Frank
Getting ready for pedElle and riding for Knight Frank is Serena Harwood, Associate. She provides some top tips after riding pedElle after riding from Vienna to Budapest last year.
Tell us a little about your and your job role: I joined Knight Frank on the graduate scheme nearly five years ago and now work in the London office leasing team, based in the West End.
Have you done pedElle before? Yes I was fortunate enough to cycle from Vienna to Budapest with PedElle last year.
What’s the one piece of advice you’d pass on to new riders? The sense of achievement at the end will make all the pain worth it. Also make sure you take enough snacks and stay hydrated!
How have you approached training? I’ve done a mix of long rides at the weekends with friends and family as well as spin classes after work in the week. Kathryn’s Peloton bike also came in very useful!
What are you most looking forward to about riding in Slovenia? Cycling through the beautiful Slovenian countryside and visiting Lake Bled as well as meeting and forming new relationships with more females in the property industry.
What are you not looking forward to? Some of the very steep Slovenian hills.
How are you connecting with other pedElle riders? I’ve taken part in some of the Club Peloton training rides to meet other riders and used Whatsapp groups and Linkedin to connect with them.
How does the charity element of the ride keep you motivated? Knowing we are able to make a big difference to other people’s lives makes all the hard work and training worthwhile. It will certainly be motivating me to get up those hills!
