Meet the pedElle 2023 riders: Helen Marsh, Forsters
With pedElle 2023 almost upon us, we spoke to Helen Marsh, Partner at Forsters, about returning to pedElle for her fifth charity adventure.
Tell us a little about your and your job role:
I’m a partner at Forsters, which is a law firm with a property focus. I work on anything involving residential property – developments, buying & selling, landlord & tenant, secured lending
Have you done pedElle before?
Yes – this is my fifth year. I used to have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it all but now am completely addicted.
What’s the one piece of advice you’d pass on to new riders?
Don’t suffer in silence. Ask if you need help with anything, or you’re worried about something.
How have you approached training?
I have been cycling in to work a lot, which is so much nicer than the train. I also learned to ride penny farthing a few weeks ago. Essential training!
What are you most looking forward to about riding in Slovenia?
The beautiful views. Can’t wait.
What are you not looking forward to?
Bit nervous about the hills…
How are you connecting with other pedElle riders?
Training rides with Penny in the Surrey Hills have been a great chance to meet new people.
How does the charity element of the ride keep you motivated?
It’s so good to know that we are doing a bit of good in the world, as well as having such an amazing experience ourselves.
