pedElle 2025 - Day 1 update
Kenmare to Spanish Point - 158kms | 1,445m climbing
Setting off in glorious sunshine at 7am, the 30-strong peloton of women from across the real estate industry are primed for the day's first stage: 60kms and 852m of climbing. Up and over and through the Gap of Dunloe, stage 1 serves up stunning views and plenty of challenges to warm the legs.
After coffee and scones in Tralee, an undulating second stage of 50kms and a relatively breezy 275m of climbing, the group arrives into lunch at Swanky's Bar on time.
Well fed and ready to roll, it's a short 2kms ride to the ferry crossing across the Shannon Estuary. Landing in Killimer for the third and final stage of the day - 48kms and 318m - the group rides into a strong headwind that later brings with it driving rain. Arriving into Spanish Point soggy, elated, and ahead of time, they dry off, clean up, and head to the bar for a celebratory Guinness or two. Day 1 is in the bag!
