Last Wednesday, women from across the property industry met in the roof terrace bar of Workshop Coffee (with incredible views over a windswept London), at White Collar Factory in Old Street, for the launch of pedElle 2020. Thanks to our kind contacts at Derwent for loaning us the space!

Event Director Rhian Fletcher introduced the assembled women to next year’s route, from Vienna to Budapest, in which pedElle will cover three countries in three days: Austria, Slovakia and Hungary.

The itinerary

After travelling to Vienna the day before, the first day’s riding will take the riders 190km with 1,000m of climbing from Vienna along the Danube through Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, and then on to Opponice at the foot of the Tribec Mountains.

From Opponice, day 2 offers the climbs - with 2000m of climbing over 110km - heading to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Banska Stiavnica. On day 3, riders will cycle from Banska Stiavnica over 160km and 1,500m of climbing, crossing the border into Hungary and rejoining the River Danube all the way to our final destination of Budapest. It promises incredible views of the city, from the hilly castle district of Buda on the right, crossing the famous chain bridge to the ‘pest’ side where that night’s hotel will also be… on the river.

Support on the road

As with all Club Peloton events, the cyclists will be supported by a lead car, Ride Captains in the peloton, motorcycle marshalls, medics, mechanics and massage therapists to keep bikes and bodies on the road. Three stops per day for mid-morning coffee, lunch and afternoon coffee ensure that riders will remain fuelled throughout, and there is at least one spa per day!

Fundraising & sponsorship opportunities

Everyone involved will also be fundraising for Coram, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, MSA Trust and Tom’s Trust, and help and advice is available throughout to guide riders in their fundraising efforts if they need it.

Partnership sponsorship opportunities are also available. Join Legal & General Investment Management, Knight Frank, Forsters and Avison Young as one of six partners to the ride, which includes two rider places, marketing support and sponsorship events.

Dates & registration

pedElle 2020 will take place 3rd-7th June 2020 (riding 4th-6th), and costs £1,649, which includes flight to Vienna, transfer, bike transport pre- and post-event, hotel accommodation and food throughout, plus support.

If you are new to riding, don’t be daunted! The Club Peloton team can advise on getting you started, on everything from buying your first bike, kit and nutrition lists, training plan and training rides, and fundraising. You’ll be fully supported throughout your entire pedElle journey and you’ll make some lifelong friends along the way.

Registration opens on Wednesday 18th December at midday.
