Meet the pedElle 2023 riders: Kathryn Cripps, Knight Frank

Published on June 14, 2023

Kathryn Cripps, Parnter and Asset Manager at Knight Frank, talks to us about her return to pedElle for the third time and the highlights that await.

Tell us a little about your and your job role:
I’ve been with Knight Frank for 15 years, with a background in agency, I have worked across all London submarkets and many UK markets providing consultancy and strategic asset management advice to landlords and developers. Our team currently have £4bn of assets under management.

Have you done pedElle before?
This is my third pedElle – I think they may be addictive

What’s the one piece of advice you’d pass on to new riders?
Don’t skip the hills in training and strongly consider doing reps of them…

How have you approached training?
I have a 6 and 3 year old and juggling work and motherhood with training means I tend to be largely focused on intense short sessions on the Peloton bike or late evening/early morning two hour rides then long rides where I can squeeze them in at the weekends. The long rides normally end with meeting my family at the RAC in Epsom.

What are you most looking forward to about riding in Slovenia?
The biggest highlight is always the camaraderie and team cheers at the top of each big climb.

What are you not looking forward to?
A couple of days ahead of the event there’s always trepidation. There is a lot of chatter around the first climb: day one - 15% and ‘spicy’….

How are you connecting with other pedElle riders?
There’s a brilliant network of women on the ride and we are always connecting on and off the bikes.

How does the charity element of the ride keep you motivated?
The most wonderful cause, hugely motivating and the element of the ride we are all very proud of.
