Day 2: Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM 2023

Calais to Soissons - Rain doesn't play, but it does make it rather unpleasant

The 82 cyclists of the Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM peloton are very happy to be rolling out of Calais this morning. While snow remains on the ground in places, the roads are clear but the weather is still not on their side. It's a day of downpours, headwinds, and crosswinds. Multiple punctures experienced, many carbohydrates inhaled, and views of not much other than wind turbines and water towers. It's a challenging day that brings the group together, with a final roll into Soissons in the dark and the rain that makes everyone glad to have ticked off 261kms on their first day of cycling.
