Community news: Summer season is in session

Summer's here ☀️

1st June = the official start of summer (and the arrival of the most rain we've had in recent months?). We had an incredible May, supporting both our own fundraising ride SLR Cycle to UKREiiF, from Newport to Wales, and the BCO Cycle Challenge, from Venice to Milan. Both rides enjoyed beautiful weather (Wales more so than Italy, ironically), stunning scenery and amazing food, while raising funds for some incredible causes. Huge well done to everyone that took part!

June will see us heading to Ireland twice: for a client ride for Universal Music and pedElle, our fundraising ride for women in property. There are also plenty of local rides courtesy of our Hubs in Manchester, Edinburgh and Leeds - more on those below, as well as plenty of community-run laps sessions and coffee rides in London and the South East.

Changing lives for Coram with pedElle

Later this month, pedElle - our charity challenge for women in property - will visit the beautiful west coast of Ireland. Starting from Kenmare, Co. Kerry, the riders will be cycling more than 550kms and climbing more than 5,890m over three days, taking on the Gap of Dunloe, the stunning Wild Atlantic Way, and the breathtaking beauty of the Wicklow Mountains before arriving into Dublin.

pedElle is raising funds for our charity beneficiary Coram, helping them to support young people leaving care without the support they need. More than one in ten care leavers aged 18 to 20 experience homelessness and the money raised can create change that lasts a lifetime. If you're able to support the pedEllers in their fundraising journey, you can donate via the link below.

Activity Days with CFC

Our charity beneficiary Cyclists Fighting Cancer will be at Great Ormond Street Hospital's Get Active: Sports & Activity Day at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on 21st June.

Activity days demonstrate the importance of exercise and activity to patients currently undergoing treatment for cancer and encouraging those that have finished to get involved and to give everything a try. The day will be attended by GOSH patients who will be able to try out various sports and activities, all designed to support their long-term recovery, alongside ward staff, volunteers, and partners from other charities and local sports clubs.

On 22nd June, you can also participate in Bristol Children's Hospital's Paediatric Oncology and Benign Haematology Department ‘Make a Move!’ day, which is being held at the Team Bath Sports Training Village, University of Bath.

If you'd like to come along on either day as a volunteer, please get in touch with Kate.

Explore 2025 heads to Spain

Explore 2025 is returning for its second outing this September. The three-day Bilbao to Madrid route will take on the Basque Country, the wine country of Ribera del Duero, the plains of Old Castile, and the Guadarrama mountain range over 440kms and 5,400m of ascent. It promises to be a test of both mental and physical resilience.

Bringing together a targeted cross-section of the real estate industry for three days of riding and networking, the ride will also raise vital funds to purchase 'infusion' bikes - specialised children's trikes equipped with IVs, allowing kids to move freely while undergoing treatment - for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.

With a maximum of 40 riders with full peloton and smaller group stages, NextGen participants will also benefit from discounted entry when bought with a full price place. There'll also be plenty of time for both on- and off-bike networking. Find out more below.

And finally...

It was great to see so many Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM 2025 riders at the event reunion, held at The Conduit, on Tuesday.

Nick revealed that the event had hit its fundraising target of £200,000 - which will be used to fund 20 Adoption Activity Days for children to meet with approved adopters via Coram; provide 20 specially-adapted trikes to children living with cancer via Cyclists Fighting Cancer; and help more than 800 disadvantaged young people in central London realise the potential of their own lives, via the Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust.

Thanks so much to everyone for their hard work both on and off the bike!
