Day 6: Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM 2025

Published on March 12, 2025

Gréoux-les-Bains to Cannes - 163kms

The end might now be in sight but there's still a big day ahead for the peloton, with every rider of Teams SLR, Lockton and ME Engineers required to complete all three stages of today's 163kms and 2,660m of climbing to get them into Cannes.

They set off in the pre-dawn, heading towards the stunning Gorges du Verdon: a steady 29km climb followed by another 15km climb through the gorge itself. The views are spectacular - soaring cliff faces dropping down to the river far below. After a scheduled coffee stop, the second stage delivers almost the same amount of climbing again, with some amazing descents and epic views.

Finally, after lunch in Seillans, it's time to set off for the final stage ot Cannes, and the waiting crowds of supporters, colleagues and well-wishers come to cheer them in. Their journey along the seafront is a smooth one, and the lurking rain clouds seem to disappear just in time for their arrival on the Pantiero.

It's an amazing moment - celebration and joy at achieving something so huge that six or four days ago, many might not have thought they would. This peloton has made every effort to ensure that team work makes the dream work, supporting each other through a gruelling six days of early morning starts, late finishes, challenging climbs, and unfavourable weather conditions. We wish Paul and Laurence, who were unable to complete the ride, a speedy recovery, and for everyone else, that any bumps, bruises and sore derrières are nothing but a distant memory very soon.

They are fundraising for three incredible charity projects and your donations make a huge difference transforming young lives. You can support them here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/cycle-to-mipim-2025
