Community news, 24th January: Plenty of reasons to ride

Published on January 28, 2025

In this fortnight's newsletter, find new ways to expand your network, along with details of our current community and coffee rides in London and the South East, Edinburgh and Manchester.

Get fit, raise money and expand your network

If you're thinking that 2025 is the year you'd like to take on a challenge, incorporate a cycling adventure, expand your business network and transform young lives in the process, then take a look at our upcoming fundraising events: Cycle to PAW, Cycle to UKREiiF and pedElle.

If you're looking for something more sociable closer to home, our friendly coffee rides and regular laps sessions are a great way to get training and/or get to know fellow industry professionals (pastries are generally involved too). Find out more about both below.

London to Paris with Cycle to PAW

Cycle to PAW is our annual fundraising ride for the arbitration community, with support from partners Arbitra International, Opus 2, Dentons and TransPerfect Legal. Taking place from 4th-6th April 2025, participants will cycle from London via Dieppe and Beauvais, arriving in time for the start of Paris Arbitration Week.

Cycle to PAW will be raising money for Club Peloton and our supported charitable project delivered by Save the Children. The challenge is open to all levels of rider and will provide some of the best networking both on and off the bike. Whether you own a road bike or are yet to buy one, we'll help and support you every step of the way. Find out more below.

Cycle to UKREiiF 2025 registration now open

Taking place 17th-19th May, Cycle to UKREiiF is back for its fourth year. This year's route will travel the length of Wales and western England. Starting in Newport, the gateway to the Welsh valleys, you’ll cycle 400kms over three days to your final destination in Leeds, England’s second largest city. Along the way, you’ll take in the dramatic scenery, picturesque landscapes, and charming villages and towns of both countries.

This year, riders will be aiming to raise £40,000 to fund a fully-qualified NVQ Level 4 Cancer Exercise Specialist for Cyclists Fighting Cancer for two years. This dedicated specialist will be responsible for offering bespoke exercise and activity advice to those children living with cancer who have received a bike or trike from CFC.

Find out more about the route and register via the link below.

An Irish adventure with pedElle

pedElle is the ultimate charity challenge for women in property. In June 2025, pedElle will visit the beautiful west coast of Ireland, taking on some of the stunning Wild Atlantic Way and the breathtaking beauty of the Wicklow mountain, while raising funds for our charity beneficiary Coram, supporting them to support young people leaving care without the support they need. More than one in ten care leavers aged 18 to 20 experience homelessness and your fundraising can create change that lasts a lifetime.

We're here with advice on training and fundraising, and we'll be hosting female-focused rides to help build the confidence of those who've never undertaken a multi-day cycling challenge.

Find out more about what's involved, and secure your place, via the link below.

And finally...

While we're delighted that EG will continue, we wanted to say a huge thank you and bid a fond farewell to Samantha McClary who wrote her final leader as Editor in this week's issue. You can read it in full on Sam's LinkedIn here.

Sam has long been a champion of Club Peloton and the work we do; a pigtailed presence on every event that she Ride Captained for us, coaxing riders up hills or through dark moments, with an unerring ability to whip an untidy peloton rapidly into shape.

She was a huge advocate for getting more women cycling through pedElle and for our charitable projects: sharing the stories of how your fundraising changes lives and how real estate can make a real difference. Her 'bedroom diaries' are comedy gold (worth seeking out on our YouTube channel if you haven't seen them).

Sam - thank you for all your support. We look forward to seeing you on Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM, and hope we'll be riding with you for many years to come.
