Auxerre to Chalon-sur-Saone

It was a tough day out there for Day Four of Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM. Not just 'hump day' for the 7-day route riders, but also the return of the relentless headwind for everyone. The peloton was buoyed by the arrival of the 4-day riders, but everyone's energy was sapped by the effort required to keep pedalling into the headwind as they headed further south, which got more brutal as the day wore on. Luckily 'hump day' / mid-point silliness took over - especially at the beautiful Chateau de Sully - and spirits have remained high throughout. Arrival in Chalon and a group dinner have hopefully set everyone up for what could be more challenging weather tomorrow.
