Meet the riders: Lizzy Hamshere, Lockton

Published on February 3, 2026

Lizzy Hamshere is a senior client advisor at Lockton, working within the real estate team in the London office. She's back to ride Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM for the second year in a row. Here she talks about what she's looking forward to about returning to the ride in March.

Tell us about yourself and what you’re working on right now:

My role is to understand our clients, help develop their needs and requirements as it pertains to their real estate risks, and ultimately place their insurances.

How did you get involved in Cycle to MIPIM?

I first heard about Cycle to MIPIM through colleagues at Lockton that had participated in previous years. Their stories about the camaraderie, challenge, and incredible causes inspired me to sign up for the 2025 cycle.

How long have you been cycling and how did you get into it?

I started cycling properly when training for the cycle last year, so definitely dived straight into the deep end. I have been cycling since and love it as a low impact form of exercise.

What have you most enjoyed about riding Cycle to MIPIM previously?

The friendships I made during last year’s ride were a clear highlight for me. Sharing the trauma of those climbs definitely bonded us together! The landscapes along the way were also pretty spectacular.

What are you most looking forward to?

Seeing all of the returners again and meeting lots of new people. I also love a challenge and this is up there!

What are you dreading?

THE CLIMBS.

How are you approaching training?

Keeping fit as usual with gym workouts and running but ramping up the long weekend rides to build on my cycling endurance.

Any top tips for new riders?

Have fun and enjoy the journey – you can do it if you give it 100%.

What would you most like to get out of the event?

Further current and make new connections within the industry, challenge myself physically and mentally, and support the incredible causes this ride is all about.

What does the fundraising mean to you?

Knowing that the money we raise has a tangible impact on people’s lives makes it all worth it. That will definitely be keeping me motivated when my legs are aching.

What changes does your business expect to see over the next year?

The real estate sector is constantly changing, particularly with advancements to sustainability and technology. It is a great opportunity for us to help our clients to navigate these changes and the risks that come with them.
