Day 3 – that’s a wrap! The women began the final day with nerves and excitement, we can’t believe the last leg has come around so quickly.
We started the day riding through ‘gorgeous’ scenes – miles of greenery, rolling hills and shimmering cornfields. The women kept a steady pace throughout as we were slowed by more cobbled roads and a few climbs into Rheinsberg. We took a moment at the coffee break to reflect on the ride – emotions were running high at the thought of seeing loved ones at the finish line. The second stage flew by as we travelled down a ramrod road for 19km before passing a pastel coloured town and heading back into countryside until we reached the municipality, Wandlitz.
After a final briefing from our Event Director, Chris Clarke, the riders set out on the final 30km leg into Berlin – the roads now a sea of purple as we aimed for Brandenburg Gate along tramlines to celebrate their success.
It’s been an epic journey and a joy to see so many new riders’ confidence grow over each mile conquered on the road. They have raised over £54,000 (not including gift aid) for Coram and Club Peloton’s other beneficiaries. Thanks to all those involved this year – you can continue to donate here.
