Fundraising charity Club Peloton is pleased to announce that King’s Cross Cycle to MAPIC 2016, its charity cycling event for the retail property industry, is almost ready to roll. With King’s Cross at the helm as headline sponsor, Cycle to MAPIC will depart Girona in northern Spain for four days of challenging riding on Saturday 12th November.

The 40 riders face 700km of cycling and almost 6,000 m of climbing and will be required to complete the whole distance as one group. They will arrive in Cannes in time for the start of MAPIC, the annual retail property conference, on Tuesday 15th November.

The route will take the cyclists across the rugged, beautiful and hilly terrain of the Spanish and French Mediterranean coastline. Along the way, they will benefit from a pro cyclist experience, with motorcycle outriders and full crew support in the form of lead car, mechanics, paramedics and sports therapists. This considerable challenge engenders a sense of support and camaraderie, for which Club Peloton’s events are renowned.

The cyclists will collectively be aiming to hit a fundraising target of £50,000 for a number of beneficiary charities including Coram, the UK’s first dedicated children’s charity. As well as fundraising, the ride provides a perfect opportunity for networking prior to the start of MAPIC.

“We cannot wait to get going: we’re looking forward to the challenge on the road, raising money for a great cause and hopefully spending four days cycling in the Mediterranean sunshine,” commented Craig White, Project Direct at Argent LLP, development partner for King’s Cross. “Coram is an incredible charity that has been operating in the heart of our city since 1739. Cycle to MAPIC is a great ride for a good cause, helping disadvantaged children both in the UK and abroad.”

“Cycling 700km in four days is no mean feat,” added Nick Hanmer, Chief Executive of Club Peloton. “Cycle to MAPIC will, however, provide superb riding along the Mediterranean coastline, with vineyards, mountains, castles, seaside towns and of course, climbs, all on offer. The tough moments and the enjoyable ones will make for an unforgettable experience, and will provide the backdrop for some brilliant networking.”

Headline sponsor King’s Cross has been joined by team sponsors: specialist retail property practice Nash Bond; property management company Broadgate Estates; and property development and investment company Citygrove.

CYCLE TO MAPIC takes place 11th-15th November 2016. More details about the ride are online at and you can follow the peloton’s adventures on Twitter and on the website every day.
