Congratulations to the riders of this year’s Legal & General Real Assets Cycle to MIPIM 2019. After a very challenging six days, the cyclists of the Portsmouth, Folkestone and inaugural Italian route rolled into a sunny Cannes. Having battled through headwinds and crosswinds in France and some incredible climbs in Italy, 160 riders arrived in time for the start of property conference MIPIM, having raised money for all our beneficiaries, including our main beneficiary, Coram.
We’re also pleased to report that this year was the most inclusive to date, with almost one-quarter of the ride female – a great improvement on previous years – and we’re also pleased to add that pedElle sold out while Cycle to MIPIM was taking place: evidence of the positive growth in female participation off the back of recent efforts.
This year’s Cycle to MIPIM was also the most diverse, with riders from all stages of their careers and from a vast range of disciplines, ensuring that the ride remains as vital a networking arena as it does a charity challenge.
So far, the cyclists have raised an incredible £440k (inc. Gift Aid), with more still rolling in. The final amount will be announced at the Rider Reunion on 8th May. The Rider Reunion will be held at HTA Design and if you’ve not already done so, you can register here. There will also be an opportunity to purchase on of Sandy Morrison’s fantastic drawings from the Portsmouth route, captured during the ride, the proceeds of which will go towards Coram.
