CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Cyclist Safety) has this month been announced as the winner of the Prince Michael International Road Safety ‘Premier Award’, recognising the most outstanding achievement in road safety. It tops the list of 22 international award-winning projects and initiatives.
The CLOCS initiative brings together developers, construction companies, operators, vehicle manufacturers and regulatory bodies to embed a road safety culture across the construction industry. The programme was unveiled as the winner at the annual Road Safety Awards luncheon at The Savoy in London on 8 December. This latest award highlights that CLOCS is a leading road safety initiative that is helping to save lives.
Club Peloton has historically been active in promoting improved standards for the construction Industry. In 2011 we helped to develop a charter which has been adopted by leading organisations including Argent at their King’s Cross development, and Helical Bar and Crosstree at their Old Street scheme, amongst others. Our own charter guidelines now form part of the TfL Standard for construction logistics: Managing work related road risk (WRRR). Our own charter guidelines now form part of the Transport for London CLOCS Scheme, more of which you can find out about here.
